At the moment I am interested in the passage of time, and evidence of human occupation in the landscape. I spend a lot of time out in the desert looking for signs of geological, prehistoric and historic activity. In New Mexico, where I now live, there is no shortage of inspiration. The desert has its own personality, its secrets, and its revelations. Even the skies are shocking with their brilliant blues and immense billowing clouds. Aside from landscape, I sometimes paint about political circumstances, such as January 6, the struggle of Iranian women, Ukraine, climate change, or my own eviction. Then there are portraits, floods, dances, life, and death.
